The Lode

In 1980 a nugget shaped like a hand came out of the ground near Kingower, standing upright.

On September 26, 1980, near Kingower in Victoria, Kevin Hillier, out with a metal detector with his wife Bep, found a nugget standing upright about a foot below the surface. It weighed 875 troy ounces and looked like a hand, so it was named the Hand of Faith. Knuckle is a small framed face of fine nugget texture set low, as close as it gets to the knuckle, on short smooth shoulders.
