The story of Spill

The Lode

Prospectors follow broken pieces of a vein uphill to find where it comes out.

A vein that reaches the surface crumbles, and its pieces work down the slope. A prospector picks them up at the bottom and follows the trail of fragments uphill to the vein; in New South Wales they were called floaters. Spill carries that run of fragments: a wide band of nugget relief starts on top and runs down one side of the ring only, to an uneven edge, while the other side and the underside stay polished.
