The Lode

In a lode mine, the ore comes up on rails.

In a lode mine, ore leaves on rails, in cars pushed along or hauled up to daylight. The mining dictionary even has a word for the top of an incline where the cars are hauled up: the knuckle. Rail takes its plan from the track: a wide, square-edged band with a broad polished rail on one edge and a thin rail on the other, and between them a channel of nugget relief all the way round, like the load between the rails.

Your price is fixed when you pay and is never adjusted to the weight; your certificate records the actual weight. Shipping
Made to order: cast in your size after you order. Workshop time: about 2 to 3 weeks, then carrier transit. Free shipping in the US.
Changes
Before casting starts, changing the size or the engraving is free: reply to your order email. Changing the metal, or a change that needs a new casting once casting has started, means a new production cycle and is charged. We confirm the cost with you before doing anything.
Returns
A catalog ring without engraving can be returned for a refund within 30 days of delivery. Engraved rings and rings modified at your request cannot be returned. You pay the return shipping, and a ring that does not come back in its original condition is refunded minus its loss in value. Returns and resizing

The Lode

Lode gold is still in the rock, in veins, along faults, where it shows at the surface. These rings are mostly polished gold with one run of nugget relief through them, the way a vein crosses stone.

14K keeps the warm yellow of our pictures, and its price follows the gold price. Vermeil is the same ring in sterling silver covered with 18K gold, and sterling silver is the same ring again. Sterling silver and vermeil have a fixed price per design.
