The River

The heaviest gold sinks to the bottom, among the stones of the riverbed.

The heaviest gold does not stay on the banks; it sinks to the bottom, among the stones of the bed. In the 1850s, miners in the Sierra Nevada dammed and diverted rivers to work the dry bed. A dry bed can still give up gold: in 1995, near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, a prospector whose name was never published found a nugget of about 56 pounds in a dry creek bed. That nugget, the Normandy, is now on show at the Perth Mint. Riverbed carries large, rounded plates, like stones smoothed by the current.

Your price is fixed when you pay and is never adjusted to the weight; your certificate records the actual weight. Shipping
Made to order: cast in your size after you order. Workshop time: about 2 to 3 weeks, then carrier transit. Free shipping in the US.
Changes
Before casting starts, changing the size or the engraving is free: reply to your order email. Changing the metal, or a change that needs a new casting once casting has started, means a new production cycle and is charged. We confirm the cost with you before doing anything.
Returns
A catalog ring without engraving can be returned for a refund within 30 days of delivery. Engraved rings and rings modified at your request cannot be returned. You pay the return shipping, and a ring that does not come back in its original condition is refunded minus its loss in value. Returns and resizing

The River

Placer gold is gold the river has already freed from the rock and dropped in its gravel. These are bands textured all the way round, like gold-bearing gravel lining a riverbed.

14K keeps the warm yellow of our pictures, and its price follows the gold price. Vermeil is the same ring in sterling silver covered with 18K gold, and sterling silver is the same ring again. Sterling silver and vermeil have a fixed price per design.
