The story

The River

A boulder is any rock fragment over 256 mm. Here it is one broad dome of large nugget plates and deep fissures, on smooth polished shoulders.

In a placer, the gravel runs from fine sand to rocks too heavy to lift; on the geologists’ scale, a boulder starts at 256 mm. The USGS explains that gold, being very dense, settles where the water slows down: on the inside of bends, in the pools below rapids and just downstream of large boulders. Boulder is one full round dome of large nugget plates and deep fissures, like the rock the gold stops behind.

Shipping
Made to order: cast in your size after you order. Workshop time: about 2 to 3 weeks, then carrier transit. Free shipping in the US.
Changes
Before casting starts, changing the size or the engraving is free: reply to your order email. Changing the metal, or a change that needs a new casting once casting has started, means a new production cycle and is charged. We confirm the cost with you before doing anything.
Returns
A catalog ring without engraving can be returned for a refund within 30 days of delivery. Engraved rings and rings modified at your request cannot be returned. You pay the return shipping, and a ring that does not come back in its original condition is refunded minus its loss in value. Returns and resizing

The River

Placer gold is gold the river has already freed from the rock and dropped in its gravel. These are bands textured all the way round, like gold-bearing gravel lining a riverbed.
